ClearSkies operates as an Export Management Company (EMC). We act as your international sales and export arm. You keep full ownership of your brand, your IP, and your products. We handle the complexity of getting them into the hands of the right international buyers. We don't buy your stock. We don't warehouse your product. We represent you, and we earn when you earn.
Our model is built on three layers, each designed to fund a different phase of the export journey and ensure we're both invested from the start.
Before we represent you internationally, we assess and prepare your brand for the target market. This covers market fit, pricing architecture for export channels, a compliance gap analysis, labelling requirements, and how your brand story needs to adapt for international buyers. This is strategic work, and it's yours to keep regardless of what happens next. Any third-party compliance costs are quoted and billed separately, so you always know exactly what you're paying for and why.
One-off project fee — from $2,500Once your brand is export-ready, we become your outsourced international sales team. Buyer outreach, relationship management, trade show representation, logistics coordination, commercial negotiation. This is ongoing, hands-on work that happens month to month.
Monthly retainer — from $2,000/monthWhen international orders land, we take a commission on confirmed wholesale revenue. This is where our incentives lock together completely: we only earn more when you sell more. Your growth is our growth.
Commission on export sales — 10–15% of wholesaleThe readiness fee means we do thorough, honest preparation before anyone makes a bigger commitment. The retainer means we can dedicate real time and attention to your brand every month. The commission means we have skin in the game alongside you. Each layer funds the next, and the whole model is designed so that ClearSkies only thrives when our brands do too.
Our agreements include a buyer introduction protection clause. If we introduce your brand to an international buyer, that relationship is protected for a defined period — so we can invest fully in building buyer relationships on your behalf, knowing the work is valued.

These are indicative numbers. Actual figures vary by product category, shipping volume, and duty classification. We calculate the full landed cost (DDP, Delivered Duty Paid) before we set any wholesale pricing with a buyer. You'll always know the real margin before a single unit ships.
The value is in volume and recurring orders. A single order of 500 units to one international retailer generates over £6,000 (approximately AUD $11,500) for your brand at these margins. Scale that across multiple retailers and repeat orders, and international wholesale becomes a meaningful revenue channel alongside your domestic business.
We use three specific approaches to protect your margins from exchange rate movement.
A currency cushion in your pricing. We build a 3% buffer into your international wholesale price to absorb normal day-to-day fluctuations.
An exchange rate review trigger. Our wholesale agreements include a clause that activates an automatic pricing review if the AUD moves beyond an agreed threshold. If rates shift significantly, we renegotiate with the buyer. You'll never find out months later that currency wiped out your margin.
Holding foreign currency where it makes sense. For brands generating regular international revenue, we can help you set up a multi-currency account (through services like Airwallex or Wise) to hold foreign currency and reduce unnecessary conversion costs.

For specialist regulatory and labelling compliance — Responsible Person requirements, cosmetics regulations, import certifications — we work with trusted compliance partners in each target market. Their fees are quoted transparently and billed directly to you, so there's a clear line between our strategic work and their specialist expertise. We coordinate it all so from your side it feels seamless.

A Note From Our Founder
Founder, ClearSkies Ethical Exports
I've always known I would eventually find the thing I was supposed to do. It's kind of surprising how long it took to figure out, considering how obvious it seems now... connecting Australian brands with buyers around the world.
Who knew all it would take was a decades-long adventure spanning London to Amsterdam to the South of France to Sydney via New York, Hawaii and a zillion other passport stamps. From office junior to leading international teams across global law firms and top-tier investment banks, to the front lines of small business ownership, and finally full circle back to my island home off the east coast of Australia.
What I saw along the way, across every border and every kind of organisation, is that commerce is one of the most powerful tools we have. Not just for profit, but for the kind of quiet, cumulative change that actually sticks. When ethically minded businesses grow internationally, economic empowerment flows directly into the hands of founders who are building new, fairer systems. And that's just good business.
